Do you have the drive, commitment, and experience required to contribute to SSAB's journey towards fossil-free steel production? We are now looking for a Transition Strategist for our Production Transition department – a unique opportunity to help shape the future of production. Do you want to be part of a crucial phase in our development and make a real difference? Then this is the role for you. Location: Luleå.
Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining us on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of our planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for our societal development and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges that connect our cities, and in tomorrow's cars. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production, and by around 2030 we will be virtually fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be crucial in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.
We are looking for someone who wants to work in a key role where you will analyze, plan, and implement strategic changes within our production operations to ensure that we are prepared for the future of steel production. The role involves working systematically and long-term with how our operations should be organized, staffed, and managed in connection with the transition.
You will be a central player in the work with our future organization, routines and working methods, competence development, plans for parallel operation, and the startup of our new factory.
This means that you will work both strategically and operationally – from analysis and planning to implementation and follow-up.
Here, there are great opportunities to contribute your expertise in a dynamic and flexible environment where we value ideas, innovation, and you as a person.
Your main responsibilities
- Drive the work to shape an efficient organization with clear goals, strong collaboration, and the right competence in the right place at the right time.
- Strategically develop and plan parallel operations to ensure a controlled and stable transition between current and future production.
- Initiate, lead, and implement strategic projects related to the production transition.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders within SSAB to ensure well-planned and effective competence development.
- Follow up, analyze, and evaluate implemented changes and communicate results and recommendations.
About you
- A degree in engineering or equivalent experience is required, preferably with a focus on industrial economics or a similar field.
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Experience working in consulting-like roles or project forms where you drive assignments from start to finish is an advantage.
- Experience in change management is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to work.
- Understanding of how people are affected by change and a good ability to collaborate related to this.
- You are a team player with your own drive, take initiative, and create progress in your work.
Our offer
At SSAB, diversity and inclusion are part of our culture. We use our values – driving, genuine, and one step ahead – in our daily decision-making, always with the customer in focus. This makes us all team players, with a common goal to improve ourselves. When you start at SSAB, you become part of an organization with passionate problem solvers who work together on important challenges. We will support your growth by offering a safe and friendly workplace that contributes to the balance between work and private life. At SSAB, you have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and grow.
